Our history
In the heart of Saintes, Charente-Maritime, Procopio proudly stands as an institution dedicated to the culinary arts and the pleasures of the senses. Since 1981, nestled in the immediate vicinity of the majestic cathedral, our restaurant has welcomed guests to a fascinating setting, where each space tells a unique story.
Our French and Italian restaurant is much more than just a restaurant. It’s a place to live, a place where we forge links around our gourmet tables. Over the years, we’ve become an essential reference point in Saintes, a popular meeting place for locals and visitors to the Saintonge region alike.
Our establishment can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests indoors, and offers 140 places on the terrace, providing the ideal setting for your every whim. Whether you’re looking for an intimate setting or a larger space for special occasions, we have the perfect place for you.
With us, every visitor is unique. Whether you come on your own, with family, friends or a group, we promise you an unforgettable experience in a warm, atypical setting.
The menu mixes French and Italian cuisine, offering the inevitable pizzas. The dishes also have a southern accent: lasagna, veal cutlets and it is possible to compose your plate of pasta by choosing the type (fresh tagliatelle, penne…) and the sauce (porcini, Bolognese…). Our restaurant also offers a lunchtime menu at a very good price-quality ratio!
Open all year round. Every day for lunch and dinner. Closed on Sundays out of season but open on Sunday evenings from June to September. Menus from 21 € to 28 €. Children’s menu : 9,50 €. Lunch formula : 12,90 € (starter/main course or main course/dessert with 1/4 wine or coffee, or 15,50 € with dessert). Pizzas from 8,90 €. Take away. Terrace.
