Our history
In the heart of Saintes, in Charente Maritime, the PROCOPIO is an institution dedicated to pleasure and taste. Since 1981, just a few steps from the cathedral, we welcome our clients in an amazing setting with different universes.
The Procopio is more than a restaurant, it is also the theater of nice meetings around our gourmet tables which has become over time an institution well known to the population of Saintonge.
With 200 seats inside and up to 140 seats outside, we have plenty of room for you. Our teams are there to take care of you in order to give you constant attention.
Whether you are alone, with your family, friends, or in a group, we invite you to travel in an atypical and friendly setting.
We offer a wide variety of homemade dishes and pizzas. We have at heart to select fresh and local products in order to concoct you delicious home-made desserts.
Our menu changes twice a year, so there’s no reason not to come back and enjoy it.
The menu mixes French and Italian cuisine, offering the inevitable pizzas. The dishes also have a southern accent: lasagna, veal cutlets and it is possible to compose your plate of pasta by choosing the type (fresh tagliatelle, penne…) and the sauce (porcini, Bolognese…). Our restaurant also offers a lunchtime menu at a very good price-quality ratio!
Open all year round. Every day for lunch and dinner. Closed on Sundays out of season but open on Sunday evenings from June to September. Menus from 21 € to 28 €. Children’s menu : 9,50 €. Lunch formula : 12,90 € (starter/main course or main course/dessert with 1/4 wine or coffee, or 15,50 € with dessert). Pizzas from 8,90 €. Take away. Terrace.

For your events, we also have a vaulted room, in stone of size, whose charm is undeniable. Isolated from the rest of the restaurant, it is the ideal room to have a rental space for the organization of your private or professional meals.
